I'm currently a sophomore at K/D , and I have to say that this is a good school , it's not like other schools that let you slack off and stuff , they keep you on track with what you have to do . All the teachers there went to great Universities and colleges and have absolutely surpassed my expectations. I recommend this school to parents that want they're children to succeed in life .

As a K/D alum, I have to admit that while the dress code is strict, it allowed us as students to worry less about looking good and more about learning. The teachers at King/Drew were wonderful overall, most cared about our learning and went above and beyond for their students. The principal, Ms. Woods, is a fair and just woman, always friendly and approachable. I dont think I would be where I am now (UCLA) if it weren't for the opportunities this school offered. The college office is always well informed and the extracurriculars are organized efficiently. As a person who spent 4 years there, I would recommend spending your child there.

Very good school,The principle is very professional as well as the teachers. My son has been here since 9th grade and I love the school. The teachers care, the 11 th grade counselor is a great mentor to my son and other students. I wish all the students and staff great success!

Very good school, with dedicated teachers and happy students. The dress code is FAR too strict, and many of the administrators are WAY too casual in their dress, especially because they hold the students to such a high expectation of adhering to the dress code. Also, the parent volunteers at the school could be a bit more professional in their mannerisms (as could the administration).

King Drew is one of the Best High schools in California as far as I'm concerned. Not only are all there regular classes collage prep , they also offer honors and AP courses. King Drew's Standards are higher than the states at king drew they require 1 more year of every subject, after graduating from King Drew your automatically have surpassed any UC Ivy league schools requirements. King Drew also offers a variety of extracurricular activates from JSA to Mock Trail To the Film Club to Cheerleader's Basketball and more. King Dre is The Best.... -Pearce

May 2006 My son is finishing up his first year at KDHS, and I couldn't be prouder of him & all involved with this one-of-a-kind public high school. He leaves home at 6:30 am to catch his bus from the valley to attend. The first thing people ask is 'Aren't you afraid of him being down there?' I'd be more scared if he went down here. So far my favorite teachers are Ms. Fletcher, Mr. Leong,Mr. Usher and thanks to JSA members for taking him under their enormously intelligent wings.

In my opinion KD in one of the best schools period. My children all attended a charter school until time for them to go to high school. That provided them with a safe and nurturing environment. From the point of the orientation until three years later when my oldest daughter began,We have been very impressed with the school. The staffing is well qualified, the school is clean and the leadership is outstanding. I have two children enrolled there and I am very grateful for a school of this caliber being in a community that some would consider poor but they have changed the entire community just with their presence. Thank KD YOU ROCK - CWK AND FAMILY.

It is the best high school the Los Angeles School District could offer. I loved the fact that my daughther went there for the entire four years and she was never in a fight. She loved coming home and telling me all about her day. Her favorite teacher was Mr.Lee.

I was a 2003 graduate from King/Drew Medical Magnet high school, and am now going to an accredited school of the arts that I do not believe I would have been able to achieve with out the guidance of K/D.

I am currently a Junior at King/Drew Magnet High School of Medicine and Science. Before atteneding King/Drew I attend private school from pre-school until graduating from the 8th grade. My mother was concerned that the switch would have a negative affect on me. But once I started school and began to become involved in school she found that the school's surroundings were not so different from what I had been accustomed to. This school gives the best oppurtunities to create an incredible future academically, spiritually, and physically. I would like to thank all my teachers for the time and extra efforts that they have put into helping me suceed these last 3 years. This has been the most incredible journey yet.

King/Drew is one of the best schools in the LA County for students who are intrested in the health and social service field. Besides the lessons we learned from the teachers the best lessons is learned working at the local hospitals with people from diffrent diverse background. As a college graduate I recommend K/D for parents and students who want to attend a great school that creates a safe and warm environment for it's students.

I am now a senior at King/Drew,and I must say that it has been the most fulfilling years of my life. King/Drew provides opportunities that you can't get anywhere else. Like the Hospitals Program. This allowed juniors to go and volunteer 4 hours of their time one day out of the week at the local hospital and the many child daycare centers. The teachers are outstanding, and the athletics are moving up. I say that because I'm on the basketball team. But I want to thank Mr. Lee, for teaching us how to open that 3rd eye. You are more than an English Teacher, but a philosoper. You make people think about things we never saw. And Ms. Woodlief for all of your stories. King/Drew is the best, and I will miss it when I graduate next June.

I just graduated from this school and I must say that I wouldn't have chosen anywhere else to go. This school is the best academically. They have so many resources and extracurricular activities available. For anyone considering going into the medical field...this is the school for you.

On my first day I was lost, I didn't know where to go and what to do. One of the staff members helped me around and told me everything I needed to know. I am going into my senior year and I will be graduating in 2004. My years at K/D were the best of my life. I really learned a lot and I will really miss this school when I graduate. I will like to thank Mrs. Woods for stepping in and taking over showing her true power. Also Mr. Lee for never letting us slide by in life with a B thinking that was good. He taught us to open our eyes to all the truths of the world.
